About Me

I am a 24 year old college dropout (x2). I used to be a fire police officer, but gave it up at the beginning of 2010 due to lack of four wheels, and time. I’ve had several lackluster business ventures, and will surely have several more.

I have been interviewed by Thrift Culture Now. You should go check that out. Seriously.

I used to be obsessed with tracking my Federal Reserve notes at the popular currency tracking site, Where’s George? but then I ran out of money.

I am an avid Geocacher when I choose to be. I’ve found over 200 caches, and hidden 16 of my own.

I’m an anime freak. Favorites include Bleach, Denno Coil, Kurozuka, FLCL, Witch Hunter Robin, Samurai Champloo, Wolf’s Rain, Escaflowne, Spirited Away, and Princess Mononoke. Subs, please, no dubs.

My favorite quotes include:

How happy is the blameless Vestal’s lot!
The world forgetting, by the world forgot;
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind!
Each pray’r accepted, and each wish resign’d.

.

I thought what I’d do was, I’d pretend I was one of those deaf mutes. That way I wouldn’t have to have any goddam stupid useless conversations with anybody.

.

It is easy to see, that you are not used to this business of adventures. Those are giants, and if you are afraid, away with you out of here and betake yourself to prayer, while I engage them in fierce and unequal combat.

“Subs, please, no dubs.” –Yes! Also glad to see a collection of good anime in your list. ^^

Looking forward to seeing you declare total debt freedom in 2014!

I’d forgotten how much I used to enjoy watching animes and reading manga until yesterday. Started watching again. You should try Trigun, Full Metal Alchemist, Hikaru no Go (very very funny), Gundam series & Naruto – just a few off the top of my head… they were just as awesome as Bleach and Princess Mononoke- probably even better.

On our trip to Japan, it was pretty cool to see massive cardboard cutouts of all those anime characters :)

Well, that was by no means an exhaustive list. I have seen Trigun, just tweeted last night about the box set being released. Seen FMA, but not the new one. Kinda meh on the latter two, not really a fan of Naruto.

Just finished the anime Death Note, should watch or read that one as well. It’s hilarious. Dropping out twice would rack up a lot of debt with no result. I’m onto my fourth car and it sucks cause I can’t get around without a car so it’s a necessity for me. If you can survive without wheels, I’d suggest you keep surviving…nothing slurps up money as much as my car does!!

Yup, I’ve seen Death Note – just not every single episode. It’s an annoying problem, but can’t bring myself to watch the series all over again to solve it.

Why did you drop out of college?

You are obviously not going to get out of debt because of your lack of education. You will never make enough money without a degree to pay off debt. I understand that school is expensive and difficult. But you are not being smart by giving up on a chance to earn a good living. I urge you to give up blogging, anime, and cheap beer.

You have shown that you are not very serious about succeeding in life by dropping out of school and working low paying jobs. You need to become a man and do what is right. Your youth will be over soon. You will be older for a much greater time than you will be young. Do not live your adult years in poverty just because you were too lazy to work hard.

Respect yourself.

I believe the following quote from Sir Walter Scott covers pretty much everything:

“All men who have turned out worth anything has had the chief hand in their own education.”

Lacking a college degree does not equal a lack of education, nor, as I have seen, does possessing a college degree mean one is educated. I am very well educated, and I don’t need to spend $100k on a piece of paper to prove it.

That is a pathetic quote.

I can guarantee that you are not educated. I do not think you are dumb, but clearly you are confused. You have no formal skill set. This is why you do not stand a chance of getting out of debt. You have a very low earning potential. It will not increase because I can tell that you lack the desire to truly improve your lot in life.

Stop trying to take the easy way out. A lack of an education is definitely going to hurt you in the long term. And please don’t cry about spending $100,000 for a degree. It can be done for much cheaper. You really need to stop acting like a loser and take control of your life.

I know that times are rough and life seems hard. It is. But you have no reason to give up on yourself. You are setting yourself up for a long list of failure. There are plenty of young people who quit school and decided to “figure it out”. The only trouble is that they never do anything. You do not have solid and realistic goals. You are going to end up in a very bad condition if you do not get serious about something.
