Since I was already linked to from The Wall Street Journal’s site a while back, it must have been time to get a little more local. Okay, Philly is an hour and a half away, but at least it’s in the same state, right? Barbara Bryn Klare, a freelance writer for examiner.com, linked to Debt Sucks in her recent article 10 Top “Pay Down Debt” Blogs: Getting by with a little help from your friends.

As I said in my comment there, two of the qualities she used as criteria, those being outright honesty about my situation as well as actual debt and savings numbers and goals, were very important to me when I started this blog, and will continue to be. I don’t like the secrecy of some other PF bloggers. I understand privacy concerns and whatnot, but it’s difficult to put everyone’s situation in context without actual numbers.

I, myself, also do it as a matter of personal record, so I can look back and see what I’ve accomplished. I think the key point to her article is in the title: Getting by with a little help from your friends. Granted, there are much fewer commenters than readers around here, but you few regular commenters have always been a huge help to me, which is why I tend to pose questions to you guys – because I know you’ll be there to answer them.

Even if the1cherry still doesn’t have his/her own blog… I’m telling you, I’d be glad to host it for you! :-D

ps its the honesty that has always drawn me to your blog. you dont hold anything back, the bad or the good and that makes you very relatable.

I found your blog when I got one of your wheresgeorge bills. You remind me of one of my kids, but you are actually working on getting rid of debt, not getting more.
