I too was contacted by Global and was immediately told that i needed to pay the last couple of months balance or he would be contacting my husband who had no access to this card. It was my card, therefore my credit, this man which i would beg to differ from the treatment he gave me, but this man didn't want to hear that it was not his right to call and start harassing my husband for the money or to put up collaterol. By the time the phone call had ended I had agreed to putting a large amount of money on an existing credit card and then paying an amount of $200 monthly for the rest of the year, at which time I would then jusmp to $700 a month. The way that man talked to me was absolutely terrible and humilating. I'm not sure how this will play out but thats what happened to me and hopefully by reading this it won't happen to someone else.

And what exactly would you have people do, Nadine? Ignore them? If I call Capital One, they give me the number for Global and that's that. They have no interest in dealing with me, and my guess is that there might be a contractual obligation involved as well.

This is all-round bad advice to someone struggling with debt. You should never deal with a collections agency.

Global is a terrible company to work with, they will harass you even if you answer and attempt to collect full amount. Unreasonable! If you had the full amount don't you think you would have paid it? I recommend no one deal with these idiots, I filed a complaint with Capital One and FTC and suggest strongly everyone does the same.
