Another Day, Another Debt

July 24, 2009

My grandfather offered to pay the bill for my truck yesterday. I wouldn’t be surprised if my mom asked him to do this. Knowing that it would be a month til I could pay the bill myself, I hesitantly accepted.

Yarrg.

So, another day, another debt added to the list. Fantastic timing though, what with all the rain today. Looking at the bill, my favorite part is “Vehicle problem: ‘Does not move.’” My least favorite part is the $345 towing charge. So far, it runs good. The clutch pedal is a bit softer than it used to be, and it shifts much easier now, but there’s an ever so slight grinding every time I change gears. On top of that, the engine (probably a belt) sounds like it’s powering up a time machine or something.

As stated previously, I’m going to go ahead and split my snowball in half, between paying my grandfather back, and building my emergency fund. And, you know, maybe investing in a AAA membership again.
