Experian Investigation Results

June 30, 2009 · 1 comment

Whelp, Experian investigated my complaint about the Comcast collection account on my credit report (thoroughly, I’m sure), and as expected, not much happened. The outcome is listed as “Updated,” which means… not much.

Just about everything was blanked out, except for the account’s existence itself. It now has no status, no type, a term of 1 month, no monthly payment, no original balance, high balance, recent balance, or recent payment. It also resulted in me adding a statement to my report reading “Account in dispute under Fair Credit Billing Acts.”

I suppose the collection agency didn’t really have much in the way of any incentive to remove the account altogether, as they didn’t get any money out of me. Like I said before, it was worth a try.
