Every night when I get home from work, the routine is pretty much the same. Sneak in and try not to wake the old man, greet the cats at the top of the stairs, strip down to my boxers (no, really – I spend almost all of my home time in my boxers, plus it tends to be hot up here and I don’t own shorts), read blogs, then mindlessly fiddle with my budget, all the while yelling at a cat every 5 minutes because he’s a pain in the ass.
It gets really old, really fast, and I end up really bored but not able to go to bed because it isn’t time yet. Know what I mean? I can’t do anything that might be loud, such as cleaning, or laundry. I can’t really leave the house either – I mean, I can, but would rather not risk it.
About the only idea I’ve come up with is to stay out after work and find something to do before coming home. Geocaching doesn’t work because it’s far too difficult (and suspicious) in the dark. Photography could work, if I could manage to come up with a different place to go each night that would be reasonable for nighttime photography.
Running out of ideas here…

what’s changed thats making you so bored? what did you used to do? is it the lack of money thats causing the problem? i dont have any suggestions except maybe movies from netflix or reading. umm yeah i’ve got a bit of a boredom problem myself.
haha i googled ‘what to do when you’re bored’ and there were 9,000,000,000 entries. heres one…http://www.urban75.org/useless/bored.html. hey it’ll keep you busy for at least 5 minutes.
“came home expecting the dog to either be on meds or put to sleep when it was really just a toenail stuck in the floor.” wtf?
1. I wish I knew. Used to play a lot of XBOX 360 with my clan, now I’m just not nearly as interested in it (and on the brink of losing my super awesome rank because of it). Books are a bad idea – remember way back when I went to court for retention of library property?
2. Google never works for me. Again, they only keep me entertained for 5 minutes. I read through that list, didn’t try any of them, but reading it did give me something to do for 5 minutes, so thanks!
3. My grandpa took his dog to the vet because the dog wouldn’t get up off the floor. When my uncle picked up the dog, walked to the door, then set the dog down to lock the door and take the dog to the vet, the dog went running out in the yard.
