I’m expecting to be broke for a week and a half. Those buggers at the collection agency called me back on Friday while I was sleeping, presumably in regards to me wanting to change my payment date. I had planned on calling them back this afternoon from work. Naturally, I completely forgot. Tomorrow is the withdrawal date, and I’m sure if I call them tomorrow, it’ll be too late.
*sigh*
About the only thing I can do now is… well… not much. No sense in sending in this overdue car insurance bill if it’ll just bounce. Good thing my truck still has one full tank of gas in it. Can’t wait to see how much in overdraft fees pile up til payday next Friday (can we say, “so much for all that overtime?”).
But hey, at least my 3 day weekend was decent. And I only have a 3 day workweek this week (2 now, since I just got home). My phone woke me up early Sunday morning alerting me to several newly published geocaches. The lure of first to finds has been about the only thing motivating me to get out and go geocaching lately, so I jumped out of bed after only 5 hours of sleep to investigate. They were all on the rail trail. In looking for the closest parking area, however, there was an event listed right smack dab on the parking area – for that afternoon! Out the door I go. This was the first event that I managed not to sleep through, and I was able to finally meet many prominent local geocachers from the area while we enjoyed hot dogs provided by the #2 geocacher in the world (and the #1 person you never want to go on a hike through the woods with, as it’s terribly difficult to keep up with her – oh, hi Lynn, you’re reading this?
). Just before the event, I managed second to find on the first two new caches, met up with a few other cachers in the process, and then several large groups of us went bounding out on the trail again. As is common, we ended up in one huge group by the end, desparately searching for the very last cache for a ridiculous amount of time (which was kind of sad considering all the experience put together among us). Very fun day.

Advice that you can take or leave – just friendly advice.
I know you are allowing creditors to tap your account for payments. I do not agree with this, because as they often do and are known for, they will take more then you verbally agree and this can create a pickle of a situation for you.
Since you have this in the works, I recommend opening a 2nd checking (make sure it is no minimum or fee) possibly an electric orange – I can give you a referral if you can open with $250 and get a bonus – but that is neither here nor there.
If you open a 2nd – only leave the minimums for the people tapping the account – keep everything else in the new account. This way, if they get greedy you wont be struggling more. They will not be allowed to take your food money and other bill money.
Ugh, D, I know, and I wish I hadn’t. I was looking forward to June, which is when my last agreed upon payment to them was, but of course their psychological mumbo jumbo got the best of me, and now I’m screwed til December.
I tried opening an Electric Orange account a while back, when my credit score was about 100 points better than it is now, and was denied. When I inquired, they politely refused to tell me what their minimum credit requirements are to be approved for an account (due to that awesome overdraft line of credit that comes with the account).
I learned about geocaching a month ago and was super intrigued by the idea. After reading your post I guess I should give it a try!
Hecks yeah you should. You might want to borrow a friend’s GPSr first, though, to try it out and make sure it’s really for you before going and spending the money on your own.
