Doing My Own Taxes Was A Big Mistake
Remember way back when I did a rough draft for my taxes and thought I owed $1200? Yeah, no, I’m an idiot. I almost wish I did owe that much, though, because then I’d be making a heck of a lot more money. I did my taxes last night with the free version of TurboTax, and it turns out my taxable income was less than $3000, so I only owed another $156, making an effective tax rate of 2.44%. Which is good to know, actually, because now when I do get a job again, instead of paying way too much or not enough, I’ll have a good number to haggle with HR over. I also just telefiled my state return, and I’m getting a whopping $1 back. Yayface.

That is a huge difference. Mistakes are so easy, it is always good to look 2 times.
