In lieu of any work available in the area that I would either actually enjoy, or not promptly be fired from, I’ve spent the past week or so trying to get some freelance writing work. Elance is your friend. Only problem there is, though, that the one project I’ve bid on so far, has been closed to bidding for, well, a week now, and they haven’t chosen a bidder yet. This was the first project I put a serious bid on, and it did sound like I was going to get it. The provider obviously liked my proposal enough to ask me to revise my bid, which I did, and thanked me for it later. Based on some skillfull mathematics (as bids are sealed), I determined that I was definitely the lowest bidder, so I was very excited when bidding closed… a week ago… and still… nothing.
But there is hope. I have found other work. Not for nearly as much money, but as we all know, every little bit counts. On top of that, every little bit of real writing work I do will help me build my portfolio, which will of course help to secure more work.
P.S. I’ve changed my permalink structure. Thankfully, it doesn’t result in any broken links – everything is redirected accordingly. The page stats in Google Analytics are pretty difficult to make much sense of when all you’re looking at is post numbers.
