Still going under
When I started this job, I was expecting to make $8/hr, as that’s what I was told at my interview. At that rate, I was also expecting to be ahead about $200 every month (if I remember anywhere near correctly). However, it turns out I’m making $9/hr, as well as all other new employees (as in, keep my mouth shut to everyone else). However, even at that rate, as I ran the numbers in a quasi budget the other day, I could be anywhere from breaking even (doubtful) to running about $200 in the hole every month.
This calls for a big WTF!
You know, as in what the heck am I doing wrong. I really wanted to send my sister some money this month, but after that, opted not to, as I don’t know where I’d get it from. I’ve been skimping on food big time lately, living off on PB&J at home and Pop-Tarts at work (no, not out of the vending machine), drinking only tap water, and my latest favorite snack food is this big gallon jar of bread & butter pickle chips I got at the grocery store for about $7 a couple of weeks ago. Frustrating.
In other news, I finally got some basic gear so I can start running with Station 10. Some, as in a vest, hat, whistle (yeah right), badge, and patch. I still lack a baton and radio. The baton I can get for myself for $22, which is no big deal, and I’d rather that than have to put up with some of the other ones I’ve dealt with before.
