Whistle While You Work

Doo de doo de doo de doo…

It cost me $100, but I applied for voluntary forbearance with Sallie Mae. Apparently the type of loans I have don’t qualify for economic hardship deferral. In other words – I’m not allowed to be poor. It’s only for six months, which means my first payment is due at the beginning of July. In the event that I’m still in no shape to pay by then, there are other options to at least lower my payment. I do believe I saw somewhere that forbearance affects your credit. The effect, if any, remains to be seen.

With my new plan for life, however, and assuming all goes as planned, I shouldn’t have too much trouble making those payments. *drumroll* I’m going to be a truck driver. And by going to, I mean plan to, will attempt to, etc. Let’s face it, truck drivers make good money, and with some of the morons I see every day at work, it must not be that hard. It also matches with my entrepreneurial drive that has been lacking any viable ideas for the past year or so (with the exception of that laundromat), That being, after I get plenty of experience, I could be an owner operator.

I don’t know, maybe I’m going crazy, but this is by far the best damn idea I’ve had in a long time, and the only thing I can think of right now to both make my financial situation a whole mess of a lot better while doing something I do indeed love doing – driving.
