What I'm Doing...

Sickola

While I pretty much dig this new job, a couple things suck about it:

  1. I’m sick. I was specifically looking for an indoors job this whole time. Here, sometimes I’m in, sometimes I’m out. Couldn’t really come up with a ratio. But anyway, being out in the cold rain the other night sure helped me develop this nasty cold.
  2. The travel. It’s 28 miles, one way. I take the turnpike out because it’s much quicker and easier, and pay $1.25 one way for that.

I am continually frustrated by my financial situation. Right now I’m trying to get by on $50 til my first pay next Friday, which will be for a week plus one or two days. I cashed in my change bottle, which brought in another $60. I’ve also been using the credit card for gas, just in case. I’m also considering closing my savings account at the credit union, as all it does is tie up $50 that I can’t use, with not the greatest interest I could be getting. I tried to get an Electric Orange checking account through ING Direct tonight, but as it turns out, they also provide an overdraft line of credit, and you can’t have one without the other. So, I was promptly denied, due to my credit score. I think I’m going to give them a call and ask what the minimum score is to qualify. Odd, though, they go through Equifax, and that’s where my highest score is (669).

Hmm, scratch that, my score there is now 660. Maybe because of the inquiry created by ING Direct. Maybe not. Who knows.

In other news, I’m out of bread, and starving, and will end up eating out of the vending machine at work this morning.
